Dr Karen Shannon Associates (DKSA) are available to provide psychological interventions for a range of psychological problems such as relationship conflict, psychological consequences of abuse and trauma, anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders.  DKSA is available to listen and to provide assistance.

What Can You Expect?

Sometimes people who use a Clinical Psychologist for the first time may not know what to expect, so please feel free to contact us and we will personally respond to any questions you may have.

On meeting with you, one of our qualified Clinical Psychologists will provide you with their thoughts in discussing all possible factors that may have contributed to your individual difficulty.  These discussions will form part of your therapy plan that is unique to you and the approximate number of sessions required will be discussed and negotiated with you. Therapy sessions typically last between 50 and 60 minutes.

Confidentiality and Data Protection

Client confidentiality and consent to treatment are core values of DKSA professional practice.  Any information disclosed will be treated with respect and will be confidential, unless there are serious professional or ethical reasons for not doing so, in which case this will be discussed with you. We are bound by a strict code of ethics laid out by the British Psychological Society.
